Rocketry & Math Intensive
Specifically for middle school students and 5th-8th students, Carden Arbor is offering two additions to their Summer School program that will take place on campus in the 4th Session, August 3-13. Contact Carden Arbor to register!

Rocketry (Grades 5-8) Scientific concepts, such as aerodynamics, center of gravity, fundamentals of flight to include weight and lift, drag and thrust. Students hone problem-solving skills and use accurate measurements to construct a rocket with a recovery system. Students must follow detailed directions, read a diagram, and work carefully and precisely. Students who have already taken rocketry at Carden may build more advanced rockets during the session. Period 1, 9:00-10:00 am.

Math Intensive (Grades 6-8) MATH TAKES PRACTICE!! - Just like anything we want to excel at, the more we practice, the better we get. This two-week math-intensive is designed to allow students to become procedurally fluent while acquiring a good understanding of mathematical concepts. Student-centered activities include puzzle solving and using a variety of instruments such as rulers, compasses, protractors, and calculators. Students will be introduced to algebraic and geometric concepts and will leave with a better understanding of Carden's middle school math expectations. Periods 2 & 3, 10:30 am -1:30 pm; there will be a break for lunch.
