On Friday, May 26, experience the first Movies on the Beach of the season. Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy a free, family-friendly movie on the beach. Arrive early and stop by the all new Bay Café on the beach for a new summertime menu of summer bites and refreshments. Movie starts at dusk. Newport Beach Beerfest returns to Newport Dunes on Saturday, May 27 from 7-10 p.m. Unlimited samples of over 150 craft beers, wines and spirits, along with live bands, DJs and a food truck tasting village set the summer stage for this annual event. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $50 for VIP admission. Purchase of VIP tickets grants early admission to the event at 6 p.m. and includes access to the exclusive VIP lounge with 12 additional breweries, separate entertainment and more. Nashville meets Newport on Sunday, May 28 with Boots on the Beach from 5-10 p.m. Experience the best in country music with a free concert from Southern California’s premier country cover band PIckleback Shine and sing along to today’s hottest country hits and classics from the Kelly Rae Band. The Kelly Boys return to the dance floor for line dancing and instruction. The Spurs and Suds Beer Tasting, full bar and country BBQ concessions are available throughout the festival. Available all weekend long and throughout the summer, Moe B.’s Watersports offers an inflatable water park in the Back Bay in addition to rentable kayaks, pedal boats, windsurfing, sail boats, electric boats and other fun beach toys. Stand up paddle boards are also available for rent courtesy of Pirate Coast Paddle. For those looking to relax, enjoy private beachside cabanas between dips in the calm waters of the gorgeous Upper Newport Bay.
