The newly renovated Hyatt House Emeryville is absolutely AMAZING! My husband and I are so happy we had found this great gem to stay for our family travel to San Francisco. We can't express enough how truly comfortable we were while staying at the Hyatt House Emeryville.

When my husband and I decided we're going on a family road trip to San Francisco, we immediately planned and listed out some requirements we needed for lodging while traveling with our kids. Our number one priority was finding a family friendly hotel. Then we needed it to be affordable, convenient, and wi-fi available for my husband to do a little work. The Hyatt House Emeryville met all our requirements and more.

When we arrived at the wee hours to check-in, the front desk staff was very friendly and processed our check-in quickly. As soon as I opened the room door, all signs of exhaustion dissipated. All I heard uttered out of our mouths were "wows" about the room.

The room was immaculate and very spacious. There was a luxurious and comfortable king-sized bed in the bedroom with a flat-panel TV and a separate bathroom with a bathtub. The living room has a balcony with the view of the beautiful Oakland Bay and Oakland Bay Bridge, another flat-panel TV, and a pulled-out sofa sleeper which my sons gladly volunteered to sleep in. Next to the living room is a fully-equipped kitchen. I love the kitchen in the room because my sons are picky eaters and now, we have an option to make our own meals (which is sometime better for us than eating out). And if we do eat out, we can pack the leftovers and store it in full sized refrigerator. No more needing to worry about wasting food or forcing ourselves to finish our meals. Lastly, free wi-fi included. With these great features, I don’t see us having any problem calling Hyatt House Emeryville our “home away from home” for the 4 days of our stay. It is truly a family friendly hotel.

Although Hyatt House Emeryville is located outside of San Francisco, it’s in a very convenient location with restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel property also has a restaurant/bar with a delicious Sip + Savor menu and a daily complimentary breakfast buffet. We had an opportunity to dine once at the H Bar but enjoyed daily the complimentary breakfast buffet. When we dined at the H Bar, it was pretty empty and we felt a bit out of place but the restaurant staffs made us feel comfortable and provided quality service. We were glad the Sip + Savor menu is filled with great selection of comfort foods, even our picky eater sons were able to find their liking.

We loved the daily complimentary breakfast buffet because we were all fed prior to venturing out to explore the cities. The buffet offers waffles, eggs, potatoes, cereals, oatmeal, fruit and coffee and tea. There is two omelet stations where you can select your own ingredients. The breakfast buffet does get very crowded and busy. We were luck out because my sons are early risers. We would be at breakfast close to their opening time and no crowds yet (another good time to come is almost closing time). My recommendations if you arrive during their busy hours are find a seat first, place your omelet orders (it takes about 20 mins), then get in line to get breakfast. The breakfast line may look long but it does move very quickly.

We didn't encounter any problem going anywhere while staying at the Hyatt House Emeryville. It was convenient for us to get into San Francisco or even visit other cities like Berkeley, Sausalito, and etc. The freeway is just about a street away from the hotel. Keep in mind, there is a $5 toll fee for crossing the Oakland Bay Bridge into San Francisco. Cossing the Oakland Bay Bridge was a great experience for my kids. They were fascinated with the close-up view of the suspensions and state-of-the-art design of the Bay Bridge. Another plus about staying outside of of San Francisco is avoiding the daily traffic in the city and parking fee. The Hyatt House Emeryville offers free parking!

Too bad we didn't get the chance to use the outdoor heated pool or the exercise room. I'll be sure to remember to bring our swimsuits and active wears on our next visit. We will definitely return to Hyatt House Emeryville next time we visit San Francisco. My family were very comfortable staying Hyatt House Emeryville and we recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the bay area.
