A Note From Your Publisher

Hello Macaroni Kid Families!  👋🏻

I am so excited to be your new publisher for Upland-Claremont-La Verne Macaroni Kid. I've been a follower/subscriber of Macaroni Kid for the past 10 years and find it useful to have one website that helps me find fun local events, family-focused articles, seasonal recipes, and ideas on how to be the best parents we can be to our kids while creating lasting memories for years to come. 

🌸 A Little About Me🌸

My husband, Miguel, and I grew up here in the Inland Empire and I attended school in Claremont. We have 4 wonderful children-- our adult daughter, Taylor (27) who attends school and works part-time, Daniel (15), a Freshman at Claremont High School, and identical twin boys, Cameron & Jonathan (13) who are in 7th grade. Life feels like it is on fast-forward and I want to make sure we are making the most of these fleeting days. 

When I am not driving my kids around town, or waiting in parking lots for pick-ups, you can find me working on my side hustle, creating custom invitations/stationery, volunteering at the kid's schools, or trying to squeeze in some time with my mom friends (shout out to having great mom friends!). 

🌸 And a Little More 🌸

My twin boys are autistic so I have a deep love for the special needs community....and coffee. ☕  My boys were diagnosed at 3 years old and we've learned so much on this journey with them. Life has had its challenges but we have been blessed with these unique and amazing individuals who have unlocked a whole different view on life (and thinking) that we would have never seen.

🌸 What I Hope 🌸

My hope for Macaroni Kid Upland-Claremont-La Verne is to continue to offer your family ways to connect and make the most of the days you have together. In each season of parenting, although the needs of our kids change, the connection to our community and the people in it does not. I want to help you create those connections and lasting memories for years to come. We don't get these years back.  

🌸 These Crazy Times 🌸

I would be remiss if I didn't mention how COVID-19 has affected our community. This is a strange time to be starting my journey at Macaroni Kid since many of our normal community events have been canceled or postponed. Despite this, I feel like, now more than ever, we need to work at staying connected and reaching out to build up our community. There are SO MANY amazing things going on as we work together to get through this difficult time. One of the biggest benefits of many of the virtual activities is that they can be shared and used by ALL communities. I will be posting many of these events on our event calendar, as well as services and activities that our cities are providing. Remind yourself that this is just temporary and we will come out of this with a better appreciation for the little things in life.
