Thankful Thanksgiving Printable

November 14, 2021
Teaching kids to be thankful and showing appreciation for the things we have in life, whether they are big or small is important to every parent I know. Everything we have is a blessing and sometimes we can take advantage of the fact that we are not less fortunate.

We like to use November as a time to bring gratitude to the forefront. This year we are going to make a thankful wall. Every day we each will write down one thing we are thankful for and stick it to our wall and then at the end of the month, we will reflect on all of it. Of course, there will be things they write like Roblox, toys,  games, computers and things that are material possessions - that's ok! Our job as parents is to set the example and explain that it's the little things like having our home, time together and food on the table is a huge gift.

For older kids who may think writing on tree leaves is "not cool" anymore, have a family or personal journal where every day they can write what they are thankful for. Practicing daily gratitude can help you shift your perspective on what is truly important.

You can find our Thankful Thanksgiving printable here. The printable is in black and white. Print on colored paper to add fun to your tree leaves.
