Holiday Happenings In Upland, Claremont & La Verne

Your favorite holiday events are back!

Since the holidays are all about gathering together to spend time with our family and friends, it’s exciting that we are once again able to come together and celebrate. Things are starting to feel a little more normal and our cities and communities are bringing back some of our favorite holiday gatherings and traditions we missed last year.  

Below is a round-up of Upland, Claremont & La Verne’s Holiday Happenings all here in one place. Many of these events start next week so get them on your calendar now.


 

Saturday, December 4 - 8:00 am – 10:00 am
Breakfast With Santa
Upland Recreation and Community Services along with Upland-Foothill Kiwanis bring you their annual Breakfast with Santa. Enjoy a pancake breakfast with sausage and juice while the children visit Santa. Bring your own camera to snap some photos with the big guy.

Breakfast with Santa costs $5.00 per person and is located at
Gibson Senior Center, 250 N. Third Avenue, Upland

Saturday, December 4 - 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
City of Upland Christmas Parade and Holiday Faire
The Christmas parade is back!  The fun kicks off with the Holiday Faire beginning at 9:30 am. The Christmas parade, sponsored by the City of Upland, the Upland Chamber of Commerce, and the Cooper Museum, begins at 11:00 am. Food and souvenir vendors will be open until 3:00 p.m. After the parade, Santa will be at Upland's Gazebo to greet local children and take photos free of charge.

Monday, December 6 – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Upland’s 6th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
The City of Upland invites you to join them as they celebrate the holiday season at the 6th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration. Children will be able to decorate cookies, write a letter to, and enjoy a visit with Santa for a photo. The Rockstars of Tomorrow will be performing as the city tree lights up for the season.

Friday, December 3 – 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
City of Claremont’s Holiday Promenade and Tree Lighting
The City of Claremont, Claremont Village Marketing Group, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Claremont, bring you the City of Claremont’s Holiday Promenade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. As the city gathers at the Depot for the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 p.m., performances by Dynamite Dawson and holiday carolers will entertain you starting at 5:00 pm. You can visit Santa Claus at City Hall from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Don’t forget to bring your camera to take photos of the kids with the big guy. During the event, Village businesses participating as Cheer Stops will be providing free holiday treats and special deals. Pick up a map that lists all participating locations at the Claremont Depot and City Hall.

Saturday, December 4 – 4:00 pm
Holiday Stroll
Holiday Stroll through Old Town features the annual storytelling of a holiday classic, the lighting of the Christmas tree, caroling, live music and a photo opportunity with Santa. Old Town businesses will extend their hours and offer free refreshments, deals, and more to La Verne residents.

Monday, December 6 - 6:30 p.m.
La Verne's Tree Lighting Ceremony
The City of La Verne hosts its Tree Lighting Ceremony right before its City Council meeting. Stop by the event for some holiday entertainment and a visit from a jolly special guest.

Saturday, December 11 – 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
La Verne’s 22nd Annual Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland brings snow runs, playlands with real snow, arts and crafts, as well as fun holiday treats like hot cocoa. Don’t miss your photo opportunity with Santa Claus.  Children should dress for snow with mittens, gloves, boots and jackets! The price of each child’s ticket includes snow play, snacks, crafts and a visit with Santa.

Winter Wonderland presale tickets cost $12 per child. The presale ends Thursday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets will be available at the event itself for $15 per child.

Saturday, December 25 – beginning at 7:00 am
Santa’s Tour Through La Verne on Christmas Morning
After a night filled with milk, cookies and delivering presents, Santa will make his annual tour through the neighborhoods of La Verne beginning at 7 a.m. on Christmas morning before heading back to the North Pole. Residents are invited to wave to Santa when they hear the lead car announcing Santa’s arrival. This year, volunteers will bring back the tradition of distributing candy bags to each home on Christmas morning.
