If your kids love big trucks, tools, and anything they don’t usually get to see up close, this is one to put on your calendar.

The City of La Verne is hosting a Public Works Open House during Public Works Week, and it’s one of those events that’s both fun and surprisingly interesting for the whole family. It’s a chance to step inside the city yard and see what really goes on behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly.

Kids will be able to check out equipment up close (always a hit), and there will be guided tours so you can actually learn how things work instead of just looking from a distance. You’ll also get to meet the Public Works team, which is a great way to help kids connect the dots between the people and the work they see around town every day.

They’re also planning vendors and activities, so it’s not just a quick stop, you can make a little outing out of it.

This event is easy, local, and something different. It’s not your typical park or playground stop, and it gives kids a chance to explore something real in their own community.

If you’ve got a kid who lights up at the sight of construction vehicles or loves to ask “how does that work?”, this event is definitely worth checking out.
