If you're looking for an easy (and free!) way to spend a summer evening with the kids, mark your calendar for Thursday, July 30. Upland's annual Kids' Night at the Park is back at Magnolia Park, bringing together crafts, live entertainment, tasty treats, and an outdoor movie to wrap up the night.
The fun begins at 5 p.m. with the popular Kids' Swap Meet & Craft Corner. Young entrepreneurs can sell their gently used toys and treasures, while families browse for fun finds and kids get creative with hands on crafts. It's always fun to see what everyone brings, and you never know what hidden treasure you'll come home with.
Throughout the evening, kids can burn off some energy in the themed bounce house, enjoy face painting, and take part in activities designed for a variety of ages. Whether your family stays for an hour or makes an evening of it, there's plenty to keep everyone entertained.
From 6:30 to 8 p.m., local teen cover band Mechanical Melody will take the stage with a mix of familiar songs that are perfect for a summer evening in the park.
And once the sun goes down, it's time for one of my favorite parts of the night, the movie under the stars. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and settle in for a free showing of Zootopia 2, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
No need to worry about dinner either. Food vendors including Binnie & Lola's, Froyo, and Lily's Lil Donut O's will be on site with snacks, sweet treats, and other goodies available for purchase.
Kids’ Night at the Park packs a lot into one evening, and since it’s free, it’s an easy one to add to your summer plans. Come early for the swap meet and activities, then stay for the movie under the stars.
